Eagle Sunrise Abstract acrylic on canvas 20" x 16" x 1.5"
This painting was created for my friend Dan and features a prominent eagle whose wings extend beyond the canvas. The painting uses masking techniques similar to batik, to reveal past layers of paint. The process is both additive and subtractive. When removing the mask the initial layers are revealed transforming the abstract composition into the tree of life. The border reveals the layers of colors that creates the positive space of the trees.
