Primary Forest Icon, is inspired by my time in Indonesia when I studied Batik. While in Indonesia, the layered aspects of life began to filter through space, sounds and smells. When I returned the layered quality of life continued. When walking through a forest the trees reflect light, memories and ideas. Thinking about the space and the associations created, I began painting my layered paintings. This is the third of my layered paintings in which I mask the forms and paint layers. The layers and the gold sky along with the primary colors create a lively tree of life abstract.
