Hillside Abstract I, is inspired by my time in Indonesia when I studied Batik. While in Indonesia, the layered aspects of life began to filter through space, sounds and smells. When I returned the layered quality of life continued. On my walks along greenbelts, the grasses growing above the houses across the canyon captured my attention. Thinking about the space and the associations created, I paint my layered paintings.
